Click <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">here<\/span> to see the pictures of the equipment and the installation process.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#\"> [&#8220;4.3: Plant fitness variables measurement &amp; sampling&#8221;, &#8220;4.3: Plant fitness variables measurement &amp; sampling&#8221;]<\/a>(<a title=\"Centre Tecnol\u00f2gic Forestal de Catalunya\" href=\"https:\/\/sustaffor.eu\/?page_id=118\">CTFC<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"43\">The monitoring of plant fitness during 2014 and 2015 includes the following variables and methods:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Tree_Monitoring_Sustaffor\" src=\"https:\/\/sustaffor.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Tree_Monitoring_Sustaffor-1024x417.png\" width=\"550\" height=\"223\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#\"> [&#8220;4.4: Soil sampling for laboratory analyses (CTFC, CNRS)&#8221;, &#8220;4.4: Soil sampling for laboratory analyses (CTFC, CNRS)&#8221;]<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"44\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">March-April 2014<\/span> (before planting): a preliminary sampling (6 samples x 8 field trials) was performed, aiming at characterizing the most relevant physical and chemical features: Total organic carbon, carbonates, texture and pH.<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">November 2014<\/span> (8 months after planting): a new soil sampling was done, for characterizing the effect of the different treatments in soil features. At each field trial six digs were sampled with a cylindrical core sampler, down to 30 cm depth. The obtained cores were divided in situ in three depths: 0-10, 10-20 and 20-30 cm.
