The event is entitled “Effective Textile Technology Transfer from Research to Industry”.
During this one-and-a-half-day event speakers from the industry, from technology transfer organisations and from public authorities presented practical experiences, best practices and support instruments for successfully dealing with all aspects of technology transfer such as:
- Technology scouting and industry dissemination of research results
- Cross-sectoral technology transfer and its related challenges such as set-up of joint development networks, standardization, market education
- Innovation financing and IPR management
- Support mechanisms for SME’s at regional level (clusters and smart specialisation)
During the event Luc Ruys from Centexbel gave a presentation on the market and industrial developments of biopolymers in textile applications. Reference was made to the European FP7 projects Bioagrotex and especially Sustaffor, where developments of agrotextile ground-covers and field tests in forestation are performed.
During the event flyers of successful industrial realisations of European research projects were distributed. One of the success story is the Jute based groundcover, treated with bioresin, that is developed and commercialised by La Zeloise and is evaluated in the Sustaffor forestation trials in different climate zones. Moreover, several units of Sustaffor brochure were distributed.
